1. Does my insurance cover this exam?
Most insurances will cover the cost of your exam for diagnostic services under major medical. This still requires that you meet any deductibles that are remaining for that calendar year and any other co-insurance responsibilities. For instance, if you have a $250 deductible and your plan covers allowable expenses of 80%, then you would be responsible for $250 plus the 20% that your insurance did not cover.

7. Are these studies safe?
The smallest amounts of radiation are given with each test. Your technologist can answer general questions about your exam. For some examinations that require contrast, there may be a very slight allergic reaction to the dye. Be sure to inform your technologist if you have ever had any reactions to dye before. These exams are also scheduled during times a radiologist is present. If you have any concerns regarding the contrast, please ask to speak to the radiologist.
