Gastroenterology Lab
Our Physicians Important Patient Information
It is important that you also bring your insurance card, photo ID, list of all the medications you take, and list of known allergies. Because many GI procedures require sedation, you will need someone to drive you home. On the day of your test, you should take all prescription drugs as scheduled. If you are taking heart, blood pressure, or seizure medications, you should take these as instructed by your physician with a sip of water. Patients taking diabetic or blood-thinning medications should consult with their gastroenterologist for further instructions. Otherwise, atients should not eat or drink anything, not even water, after midnight the night before their test. Specific instructions for eating, drinking, and any additional prep instructions should be given to you by your physician. Should you develop fever, sore throat, or other illness, please notify your physician or the GI Lab before your scheduled test. For your safety, please leave valuables and jewelry at home. One Nineteen cannot be responsible for lost or misplaced items. For more information about the GI Lab at One Nineteen, please call
