How long have you worked at One Nineteen?
I have worked at One Nineteen since May of this year. But I also work downtown at St Vincent’s Birmingham in the Fitness Department.
When did you graduate?
I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Health Promotion.
Why did you choose fitness as your career?
I have always been involved in sports and fitness has always been of great interest to me, which is why I picked it for my career.
Specializations?
I have worked with gymnasts, cheerleaders, and with the middle to older population.
What is your current workout?
I enjoy interval training and circuit training for my workouts.
What is your best fitness tip?
My fitness tip is to be consistent with working out but to change out the type of workouts you do (swimming, cycling, aerobics, weights, etc.) |

Since 2008.

Major in Kinesiology from Montevallo with Minor in business.
What made you choose fitness as your career?
I've always had a passion for sports, fitness, and bodybuilding so why not pursue them as a career?
Specializations?
I work best with people who don't call it quits and understand that good health isn't instantaneous. It takes hard work and dedication to achieve goals.
What is your exercise routine?
I believe by mixing up weightlifting and bodyweight exercises you can achieve whatever goals you set for yourself.
What is your best fitness tip?
Good fitness is tough to accomplish but its rewards far outweigh the time put in. |
How long have you been at 119? I have worked at 119 for almost 2 years.
What Degree do you have and from where?
My degree is in Health Promotions with a minor in Business from Auburn University.
What made you choose fitness as your career?
I chose fitness as my career because I have always been concerned about people who have health issues and how I can promote healthier lifestyles for individuals. I love people and interacting with different ages and backgrounds.
Specialized with any type of people?
I have specialized with people from various social economic backgrounds and have worked with clientele with various ailments such as arthritis, diabetes, and cardiac rehab patients. I have also worked with teens that are training in volleyball, tennis, and cheerleading.
What is your exercise routine?
My exercise routine consists of 3 to 4 days of cardio training and 2 to 3 days of free weight training.
What is your best fitness tip?
My best fitness tip is to have a positive attitude towards your exercise routine, realizing that you are doing it for yourself and it is not a competition. Keep in mind that being healthy is way more important than looking like a model out of magazine, so don't worry so much about your appearance and focus more on your health, and you will have much more success. Also, be sure to eat a healthy nutritious breakfast and drink plenty of water throughout the day this will be a healthy way to start your new lifestyle! |

What made you choose fitness as your career?
I really enjoy being active and working with people to achieve their fitness/health goals.
Specialized with any type of people?
I have worked with people from all walks of life. Recently I have been training recent high school grads that are planning on joining the military or some type of ROTC college program. I have assisted them in their preparation for basic military physical fitness levels.
What is your exercise routine?
Right now I am training 4-5 days per week (swimming, biking, running) for a triathlon with supplemental weight lifting 2-3 days per week.
What is your best fitness tip?
Set goals for the long run and short (i.e. long run = "I want to lose X amount of weight within X amount of time." short time frame = "I will make it to 119 health and wellness to exercise X amount of days this week") And then REWARD yourself!

I have worked as a Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer at One Nineteen for 2.5 years.
What Degree do you have and from where?
I graduated from University of Montevallo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion.
What made you choose fitness as your career?
I chose to be having a career in fitness, simply because I want to share my experience of being fit and well-conditioned to encourage everybody to live a healthy lifestyle.
Specialized with any type of people?
Sports, soccer, basketball, weightless, arthritis, cheerleaders, stretching, etc.
I believe exercise can help with anything and everyone no matter what condition or dysfunction you face. With this I mean that exercise programs needs to be specific for each individual and modified to their abilities. My training experience includes creating exercise programs for people with conditions such as; Arthritis, Diabetes, Hypertension, Osteoporosis, etc.
Also; functional training for Weight loss, Muscle- Toning, Gain, and Strength. Sport Conditioning for Soccer, Golf, Tennis, Basketball, Football, Ice Hockey etc.
What is your exercise routine?
My normal exercise routine consists of quick and intense 45-55 minute workouts 5-6 days/week. Not a typical “cookie cutter” program.
What is your best fitness tip?
My best fitness tip would be referring to a quote from Nike advertisement. “Someone who is busier than you is running right now”. With this I mean; your health should be first priority. This doesn’t mean you have to run several miles a day. It simply means, exercise healthy, eat healthy, stay healthy. |

I have a degree from UAB in Fitness Leadership with a Minor in Business Administration.
What made you choose fitness as your career?
I have always been involved in sports and fitness and I am a very active and outgoing person which is why I picked it for my career.
Experiences?
I have experience with weight loss, strength training, osteoporosis, hypertension, back injuries, knee injuries, hip injuries, and shoulder injuries.
What is your exercise routine?
I do cardio 3 times a week and resistance training five days a week.
What is your best fitness tip?
Simply staying active, whether it be exercising, playing a sport or just going hiking just living an active lifestyle is the best way to staying fit. |
