Yes. Most plans do cover physical therapy; however, few plans cover all therapy costs. Even those with secondary insurance may find that it does not cover what is not covered by the primary insurance. Some plans require the patient to pay a percentage of the charges for each visit. Other insurances require a patient co-payment at the time of service. Payment is required for co-insurances and co-payments at the time of service. We accept most methods of payment including cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and most debit cards. We will discuss your financial responsibility with you on your initial visit so that you and your therapist can formulate a comfortable plan for you. Should you require special arrangements, please ask to speak with our financial counselor at 205-408-6600.
On January 1, 2006 Medicare reinstated the Medicare cap on therapy services. The current cap is $1,740.00 for reimbursed charges. This means that once Medicare has paid $1,740.00 for therapy, they will not pay more, and the individual is responsible for further services. Medicare did set up certain exceptions to this rule; depending on your diagnosis, you may not be limited by the cap. One Nineteen has designed a program called the Post-Rehab Program that will allow you to continue your therapy independently for 90 days with the help of the fitness staff.
If you are scheduled for therapy, please take a moment to complete our online registration form. This will save time during the registration process. Also, please print our PT questionnaire, fill it out, and bring it with you. This information is very valuable to the therapist. Once you have pre-registered and filled out your questionnaire, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time so we can get you to your therapist on time. We look forward in serving you.
You should wear clothes that are comfortable and not binding. Dresses are nproblematic, as we do perform exercises with most of our patients. Comfortable walking shoes are required. For safety, sandals and open-toe shoes are not allowed. You may want to bring shorts if you have any knee problems, to allow manual therapy on that joint.
Your physician may have ordered pool therapy, but you must be evaluated by a physical therapist before beginning it. The first day will be an evaluation and orientation to the facility. After screening for conditions that may make pool therapy harmful, we will then schedule your pool sessions.
No. You can wear something that is comfortable and easy to put on and take off wet. We suggest that all clothing be hemmed, as cutoffs can fray and clog filters. We suggest clothing made of dark material. We also suggest pool shoes to help with walking or exercising in the pool. We will supply towels, robes, and anything else you need. We even have spinners that will spin your clothes semidry in our main locker rooms.
Remember that your therapist has designed your therapy program around you. However, there may be times when emergencies occur that require you to reschedule. Call our front desk and ask them to reschedule your visit. This number is 205-408-6555. If you are experiencing increased pain, please do not cancel or miss your appointment. Your therapy sessions are designed to help you feel better.
You should receive a home exercise program during your therapy. You will have a specially-scheduled last visit to go over your home program and to provide you with future plans. We have many options, such as massage therapy, for continued manual therapy and a Post-Rehab Program for continued land and aquatic therapy. You can also become a fitness member and receive the benefits of our free wellness classes and special offers. If you would like more information about joining, call 205-408-6600.
